About

My name is Andrew Wessels and I’m a writer, translator, editor, book designer, and teacher. Currently, I split my time between Istanbul and Los Angeles. I’ve previously lived in Houston, Cambridge, and Las Vegas.

My first book of poetry, A Turkish Dictionary, is published by 1913 Press. I have published two chapbooks: Semi Circle, a chapbook of my translations of the Turkish poet Nurduran Duman, and From Being Without Substance.

My essays, poems, and translations have been published at Literary Hub, Los Angeles Review of Books, Kenyon Review, Asymptote, Colorado Review, Fence, Witness and Jacket2, among others.

I have worked as a literary editor and book designer in various capacities at Witness, The Offending Adam, and Les Figues Press, where I edited and designed the Publishers Weekly starred review titles Coyote by Colin Winnette and Irradiated Cities by Mariko Nagai.
